Zabiwa at the NewMedia Dome Madrid

Artist Zabiwa transformed the NewMedia dome in Madrid into an 800 m² immersive visual world, a maximalist fulldome experience unlike anything on a flat screen.

For a recent private event at the NewMedia dome in Madrid, digital artist Zabiwa presented a large-scale immersive composition across the full 800 m² projection surface, one of the most expansive fulldome canvases available in Europe.

The work transformed the geodesic dome into a total visual environment, unfolding above and around the audience throughout the night. Experiencing the piece at architectural scale, rather than on a flat screen, revealed the full power of this body of work: every layer of detail expanding across the curvature of the dome in 360°.

Built through dense accumulation, maximalist imagery, and rich visual layering, Zabiwa's composition pushed the boundaries of what fulldome projection can carry as an art form. The result was not a performance or a show in the traditional sense, but a sustained immersive world, one that surrounded the audience completely from the moment they stepped inside.

About Zabiwa's practice

Zabiwa's work explores maximalism, accumulation, and scale within contemporary visual culture. Each composition is constructed through repetition, layering, and the collision of influences drawn from film, gaming, music culture, internet imagery, and digital media. Rather than following a single visual reference, the work grows through accumulation — reflecting a generation shaped by constant exposure to images and visual abundance.

The Newmedia dome in Madrid provided the ideal environment to experience this approach at its most expansive: a seamless, immersive surface where the scale of the architecture and the density of the imagery became inseparable.
